– Governors on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who are not happy with the party will meet in Abuja

– The governors according to reports would express their displeasure over the outcome of recent primaries conducted by the party

– They would also try to salvage what remains ahead of the 2019 general elections

All Progressives Congress (APC) governors who are not happy with the party are set to meet in Abuja ahead of the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the party.

Daily Trust reports that sources said the governors would express their displeasure over the outcome of recent primaries conducted by the party and try to salvage what remains ahead of the 2019 general elections.

States like Zamfara, Imo, Ogun are all having challenges following the state governors inability to produce their successors or candidates.

Other governors including Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo), Muhammad Jibrilla Bindow (Adamawa); Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna) had also protested against the decision of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) led by Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

The news outlet reports that the planned meeting by the governors in Abuja is meant to explore ways of ensuring that only their preferred candidates emerged for various offices.

“After their meeting, the aggrieved governors would direct the NWC to call for NEC meeting where all those that matter, including President Muhammadu Buhari, would attend,” another source said.

“That is where they would most likely pass a vote of no confidence on Oshiomhole unless something is done in the next couple of days. The governors are very powerful; even the president needs them for his re-election,” the source said.

TRACK NEWS had reported that in what it describe as struggle to free the state from one-man leadership in Lagos state, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) reached out to aggrieved members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to join its ranks.

The party said the APC members should join the free Lagos train in other to return good things to the state.
