Following the withdrawal of Dr Oby Ezekwesili, presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN) from the presidential race, a new coalition comprising new breed politicians is set to emerge to challenge the dominant parties, All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Giving this indication in a statement, Dr Thomas-Wilson Ikubese, the Convener, YesWeFit Revolutionary Movement, called on presidential candidates of other political parties to drop their individual aspirations and come together to form one grand new breed coalition, ”so that we can present one Consensus Candidate to Nigerians in next month’s presidential election.”

Ezekwesili earlier today dropped her presidential ambition and promised to work to bring about a new coalition to challenge the dominance of the APC and the PDP in the political space.

Ikubese commended Ezekwesili for her bod step. “I wish to wholeheartedly commend Aunty Oby for this bold, selfless, patriotic step,” he stated.

A few minutes ago, the Presidential Candidate of ANN and Consensus Candidate of PACT, Fela Durotoye, reiterated “his willingness to drop his ticket for a new coalition, as always!

“I hereby call on other New Breed Presidential candidates; Omoyele Sowore, Kingsley Moghalu, Eunice Eunice Uche Atuejide, Shina Fagbenro-Bryon, Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, Tope Fasua, Alistair Soyode, Ahmed Buhari, Felix Nicholas and all other New Breed Presidential Candidates, to please follow suit, drop their individual aspirations and come together to form one grand New Breed coalition, so that we can present one Consensus Candidate to Nigerians in next month’s presidential election.

“Yes, we’ve lost ground. Yet, in politics, 24hrs is a long time!

“I humbly call on the followers of these New Breed Presidential Candidates to reach out to them and persuade them to yield, instead of urging them to continue to pursue their individual aspirations, which they can’t achieve alone.

“A new Nigeria is possible, together we can,” he stated.
