TRACKING >The Honourable Commissioner for Labour, Employment and Productivity, Chief Collins B. Cocodia has told trainees of the National Industrial Skills Development Programme (NISDP) to be focused on the training and give it the seriousness it deserve.

The Honourable Commissioner gave the charge at the orientation seminar to induct trainees of 2019 National Industrial Skills Development Programme organized by the Yenagoa Area Office of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) held at the conference hall of the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Productivity, Yenagoa.

The Honourable Commissioner noted that concentration is a key element of success as the program is designed towards making them self-reliant, adding that the ministry and the ITF will check on them continuously to monitor their progress.

The Honourable Commissioner used the occasion to welcome the new Area Manager of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Yenagoa Area Office, Mrs Loveth C. Sampson wishing her a memorable and fulfilling stay in Bayelsa State.

Earlier in her welcome address, the Area Manager thanked the Bayelsa State government for the collaboration and support accorded the ITF over the years. She explained that the programme was designed and developed by the ITF in 2011 to drive the federal government initiative known as the Nigeria Industrial Revolution Plan (NIRP) adding that the programme is aimed at achieving an overall industrial skills development among our youths for national development.

Three hundred Bayelsa youths are listed below for the training in five trade areas which include Catering and Event Management, Tilling, Production and Laying of Interlock Tiles, Furniture Making, Wielding and Fabrication, Auto-gele and Beauty Care.
