TRACKING >>The House of Representatives yesterday resolved to investigate and monitor all recruitments into Federal Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in order to check allegations of employment scam and extortion of innocent applicants.

The resolution of the house was sequel to the adoption of a motion sponsored by Hon. Yusuf Gagdi (APCPlateau) In his lead presentation, Gagdi expressed displeasure over the irregularities that occurred in the interview process for recruitment exercises in some government agencies. He disclosed that, the sharp practices opposed the spirit of federal character in recruitments taking place, and a gross infringement on the rights of eligible Nigerians to be employed. According to him, the new trend is disastrous for the Federal Civil Service which is the largest employer of labour in the country, calling for the effective monitoring of all employment processes when the relevant House Committees are constituted.

Supporting the motion, Hon. Ayika Ogbonna, argued that the prevailing situation compelled most industrious Nigerians, who go through the desert to go seek greener pasture in Europe while some die in the process. In his contribution, Hon. Nyampa Zakaria observed that if the youths ravaging his constituency were gainfully employed, they would not be available to be unlawfully engaged by promoters of the extreme violence.
