2020 World Press Day: Mulade hails journalists for  doggedness, resilience in reporting happenings

TRACKING______As the world marks the 2020 world press day, the National Coordinator Centre For Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ, Comrade Chief Sheriff Mulade has hailed journalists across the globe and especially in Nigeria for their doggedness, resilience in carrying out balance reporting of happenings around the nation.

Chief Mulade while commending journalists charged them to do more in the area of falsehood which is what the world now called fake news in order not to allow it jeopardize their work , adding that adhering to journalism ethics will weed off such unethical practices in the profession.

He praised journalists for their roles in bridging the gap between the high and low in the society as well as giving accurate information to the general public both the key public for knowledge across the stratum of the society.

The CEPEJ National Coordinator who is also a mass communicator and most media personality in Nigeria, Delta state and across used the opportunity to congratulate all journalists in the country even those at the frontline in the COVID 19 pandemic battle , urging them to remain focused and determined in the discharge of their duties by giving accurate information as well as reportage that could also lead to finding cure to the dreaded coronavirus threatening fundamental rights of humanity freedom.

Chief Mulade a Niger Delta Human Right activist with a bias to the environment of the Niger Delta against oil pollution and other degradation as well as a traditional title holder of IBE-Serimowei meaning “Kingdom lifter and hope of the society/humanity” from the great Gbaramatu Kingdom described media and members of the fourth estate of the realm as gate way to attracting development to what he called the left over areas that have been forgotten by successive at states and local government levels.

Meanwhile the theme for 2020 press day is Journalism without Fear or Favour, the CEPEJ Boss reassured media practitioners of steady and renewed partnership for progress at all times.
