***Says market facility will boost economic growthTRACKING____Honourable Victor Inodunimi Isaiah, Executive Chairman, Brass Local Government Area, has today laid the ground foundation for the construction of Twon-Brass Ultra-modern General Market in Town-Brass, Headquarters, Brass Local Government Area, Bayelsa State.Performing the foundation laying ceremony, the Brass council Chairman said the general market project, when completed, would accelerate economic growth, encourage commerce, create jobs, and secure the lives and properties of traders.He declared that the market and other ongoing projects across the council area, are clear indications of his administrations commitment to the transformation, economic growth and development of the area.The Brass council helmsman further explained that the market project is designed to have 150 shops, consisting of 50 lockup shops, 100 market stalls, administrative office, access road, a warehouse and an additional space for other trading and market activities.He noted that the project which is first in the history of Brass Local Government Area, is expected to be completed within ten months and will address the issues associated with open air markets, as traders always count their losses due to rains and unfavourable weather conditions.For decades, Twon-Brass, the economic center of the council area has been without a befitting market, a situation that has greatly affected the development of commercial activities. The legacy project will therefore facilitate economic activities in the town.
