Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State, had defeated other aspirants, among whom are Chibuike Amaechi, Ahmed Lawan, Yemi Osinbajo,Yahaya Bello, among others.
Peller described Tinubu’s victory as a well deserved one.
The lawmaker in a statement signed by Kola Popoola, his Press Secretary, urged Tinubu to ensure that peace reigned within the party.
“It was indeed a battle well fought, which deserves commendation from all well meaning Nigerians irrespective of political, ethnic or religious affiliation. I salute Asiwaju Tinubu’s courage, doggedness and political sagacity – it is a well deserved victory.
“I am using this opportunity to urge Asiwaju to leverage on his emergence as the presidential flag bearer of the APC to resolve all the internal issues and disagreements emanating from the party and bring everyone together as one big family.
“Asiwaju needs to ensure that peace reigns within the party. However, this cannot be achieved except we allow internal democracy, justice, equity and fairness prevail in our activities,” he said.
