Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports

Okezie Ikpeazu, Governor of Abia State, has distanced himself from All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer Bola Tinubu’s presidential ambitions.
John Okiyi Kalu, a member of the Abia State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Campaign Council, stated this in a statement released on Saturday.

This was stated by Kalu in response to Ikpeazu’s complaints about the PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and the party’s National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu.

He also stated that despite his grievances with the main opposition party, Ikpeazu will never work for Tinubu or the APC.

According to Kalu, the rumor that Ikpeazu is one of the four governors who will work for Tinubu is false.

He added that the Governor of Abia State had clearly stated his intention to remain in the PDP despite the party’s crisis.

“That HE Okezie Ikpeazu, PhD, wants his party leadership to muster the courage to accommodate all zones of our country during the pre and post-election periods does not in any way suggest an intention to leave the PDP or support Tinubu in any form or manner,” Kalu wrote in the statement.

“He used the analogy of sounding the alarm about the need to repair the flaws in the vehicle, PDP, that is supposed to transport us to political Canaan Land.” However, he also stated that if his advice is ignored, he will board the faulty vehicle with the burden lifted from his shoulders in case the unavoidable occurs.”

Governor Ikpeazu, according to Kalu, believes that restructuring the PDP will allow them in the South East to discuss with their people what is in it for them in a potential PDP federal government.

“As someone who has worked closely with Governor Ikpeazu, I can easily say that Tinubu and APC will not even be second or third choices for him if he is truly dissatisfied with his party, the PDP,” he said. Keep Governor Ikpeazu out of your speculations and vote for the PDP.”
