Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports

In preparation for the general election in 2023, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has begun a zonal fact-finding and evaluation of the South-South states in Asaba, Delta State.

The South-South Vice-Chairman of the APC, Hon. In order to determine the party’s health in the six states of the zone, Victor Giadom over the weekend led members of the zonal working committee to communicate with party officials and important stakeholders.

In a statement released on Sunday, Giadom claimed the town hall gathering had been requested by the party’s national secretariat and was intended to provide a first-hand awareness of concerns that would limit the APC’s election success.

“We are here this evening at the national headquarters of our great party, not only to tour Delta State but also to visit all the states in the South-South zone,” he added. These, in our opinion, will help us at the party’s core understand the state of the party, the things we are doing well, and the areas where we need to make improvements.

We have roughly five months till the election, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will lift the restriction on campaigning nationwide on this month’s 28th, at least for the purposes of the national election, the presidential election, and the National Assembly elections.”

Giadom emphasized that the purpose of the zonal working committee’s visit to Asaba was to listen to everyone. The committee will compile reports from the tour to critically assess what is happening in each state and devise solutions for every single problem that has been identified.

In order to report to the center and be able to design what will be necessary, including the messages and the things that we need to do to enable us to secure victory in our respective states, he said, “it means that we are getting very close to action time and it becomes important for us as a political party to come back to our respective states to critically evaluate what is happening in our respective states.”

The Zonal Publicity Secretary, Mr. David Okumgba, the Zonal Organizing Secretary, Dr. Blessing Agbomhere, the Special Leader of Persons with Disabilities, Edet Asia, the Zonal Woman Leader, Mrs. Cynthia Owugha, and the Zonal Youth Leader, Comrade Ebimobowei, were all present at the meeting as members of the South-South APC Zonal Executive Committee.
