2023: Aregbesola’s ally abandons the APC in favor of the PDP

Wale Bolorunduro, an ally of Minister of Interior Rauf Aregbesola, has defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to Tracknews, Bolorunduro announced his defection on Wednesday while speaking to journalists in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State.

He stated that his decision to leave the ruling APC was made in the best interests of his supporters and families, not for political patronage in the opposition PDP.

According to the former Commissioner for Finance, Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s administration has failed to live up to expectations and has gone beyond redemption with deception, injustice, and a lack of fairness.

Bolorunduro claimed that the APC leadership in the state had sidelined him to the point where he was not even involved in the matter in his ward.

“I have been in the APC for eight years (after leaving office) without any patronage, benefits, or appointment, yet I worked for the party in the 2015 and 2019 general elections,” he said. I can survive and thrive outside of government.

“My records are at Zenith Bank, where I pioneered various financing groups (upstream oil and gas, Telecom, power sector, infrastructure group) at various times when God allowed me to conquer one front after another.” New challenges usually get my adrenaline pumping.

“I consulted widely with my supporters, admirers, friends, and families, and they all agreed that we should pitch our tent with the PDP, join this party, and work with them to shine the light” (Imole Osun). We would have done it before the 2022 gubernatorial election, but knowing “them,” it was better “to err on the side of caution, for us to have today, tomorrow, and the future.”
