Despite the grace period given by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for collection of the Permanent Voters Card, about 9,710 of those cards are still lying down in the respective local government areas waiting for their real owners.

Beyond the idle PVCs, the non-sensitive materials expected to be used in the presidential elections slated for 25th of this month has started arriving the thirteen local government areas of Nasarawa state.

This was revealed on Tuesday by Dr. Uthman Ajidagba, the Nasarawa State Independent National Electoral Commissioner.

Ajidagba, disclosed the information shortly after inspection of vehicles hired for conveying the materials from INEC state headquarters in Lafia.

The INEC REC for the state noted that the deployment of the non sensitive materials which is the second phase, was to allow speedy distribution to Registration Area Centres as well as Electoral Wards across the state.

According to him, INEC is stepping up preparations to ensure the polls hold hitch free in all the polling units.

Although the non sensitive materials so far distributed include mats, ballot boxes, voters cubicles and election bags.
