2023 election will be a walkover for Tinubu, says Ribadu

•Jaji: it’s time for Northwest to pay back Jagaba
•‘We will mobilise 5m votes for ex-Lagos governor’

A former presidential candidate and Director of the Directorate of Stakeholders’ Relations in the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC PCC), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has predicted a landslide victory for the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in the 2023 general election.

But he warned that opposition parties and their candidates should not be taken for granted.

Ribadu spoke during the inauguration of the 132-member directorate of stakeholders’ relations of the campaign council yesterday in Abuja.

Addressing members of the directorate, the pioneer Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said: “Luckily for us, our job is cut out for us. We have the most saleable product in the market today. There is no one candidate out there that is better than our own.

“Asiwaju Tinubu is an accomplished human being and a thoroughbred administrator and maverick politician. He has something to show from his glowing antecedent. He will not learn on the job.

“He also has a wide network of friends and associates everywhere in Nigeria, which makes our job of outreach very much easier. Though this election is a walkover for us, we should not leave anything to chance.

“We should not underrate our opponents. We should work assiduously to make the margin of winning too wide that the victory will be massive and sweet.”

APC’s founding National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande, who inaugurated the directorate, expressed satisfaction over the performance of the APC-led administration since May 29, 2015.

Also, the Director of Contact and Mobilisation for the Northwest Region of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, Aminu Sani Jaji, has said the 2023 presidential election is a payback time for the good Asiwaju Tinubu has done for the region.

Jaji, a former member of the House of Representatives, recalled that having supported President Muhammadu Buhari in the last seven and a half years, the Northwest must mobilise support and deliver victory for the Tinubu/Shettima joint ticket in the 2023 presidential election.

“The best thing that we can do in 2023 is to pay back Asiwaju Tinubu, who has supported our son (President Buhari) to be President twice. It is time to pay back what the other zone did for our son, a father and a role model, that is President Buhari.

“We all saw how the people of the Southwest stood their ground and supported him throughout, unconditionally.

“So, it is time to give support to Asiwaju Tinubu unconditionally, but with conditions that he is going to make the North especially great.”
