Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports

In the Daura senatorial district of Katsina State, 19,500 members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have switched parties in advance of the 2023 elections.

According to Track News, APC defectors said that the ruling APC’s broken campaign promises were the reason they were departing.

They said that the ‘failure’ of the APC administration in Katsina State is a glaring indication of the PDP’s ‘imminent’ victory.

Salisu Yusuf Majigiri, the state chairman of the PDP, claimed the 19,500 defectors were from the state’s Baure and Zango Local Government Areas (LGAs) as he welcomed them on Saturday in Baure town.

“We welcomed 19,500 APC defectors into the PDP today (Saturday), the majority of whom are APC exco members from various political wards in the Baure and Zango LGAs. In 2023, we will collaborate with them to free Katsina from the APC, according to Majigiri.
