The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kola Ologbondiyan has revealed that contrary to speculations in some quarters, the party is yet to take a final decision on zoning its 2023 presidential ticket.

Ologbondiyan in a series of tweets on Friday afternoon said the party is yet to adopt the recommendations proposed by the Senator Bala Mohammed Committee on the Review of the 2019 Elections.

He, therefore, added that it would be wrong of anyone to state that the party has chosen a zone to give its 2023 presidential ticket based on the report by the committee.

He said: “Due to inquiries from our members and the general public, it has become imperative to clarify that
the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is yet to adopt any of the recommendations proposed by the Senator Bala Mohammed‘s Committee on the Review of the 2019 Elections.

As such, it will be incongruous for anyone to assert that any decision has been taken by the PDP on zoning of the Presidency ahead of the 2023 general elections.

PDP leaders, members, and supporters are enjoined to note that party is yet to take any decision on the proposals presented by the committee.”

Meanwhile, the Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, on Thursday noted that the Peoples Democratic Party lost the presidential election due to manipulations by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and Independent National Electoral Commission.

Governor Mohammed stated this during his presentation of the report at the party’s review of the 2019 elections.

President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC defeated the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar with over 3 million votes, however, Gov. Mohammed says what transpired was manoeuvred.

The Bauchi State Governor in his statement said, “The general impression within the party and within the country is that we actually won the election and that we lost to a lot of fraud, to a lot of manipulations either by the electoral umpire or by the security operatives.”

Mohammed who also serves as Chairman of PDP’s 2019 Elections Review Committee, while speaking on Channels TV, said a full report has been presented by his team.
