Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports,

Aminu Ali Shana, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was arrested in Kano State with 367 suspected Permanent Voters Cards, PVC.

Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, spokesman for Kano State Police, confirmed the development to Daily Sun, saying the suspect had been taken into custody and that an investigation had begun.

According to the police, Aminu, the APC Chairman of the Yautan Arewa ward in the Gabasawa Local Government Area of the State, was arrested on October 14, 2022.

According to reports, the police had forwarded the suspected PVCs to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for verification. Following that, all of the people whose faces appeared on the cards could be called in for questioning.

According to Track News, the offense violates Sections 21 and 22 sub-sections 1(a), (b), and (c) of the Electoral Act (amended).

Recall that the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kano State had raised the alarm through its spokesperson, Sanusi Bature, alleging that some politicians in the state were hoarding/buying PVCs from voters in areas where they doubted their chances of performing well in the 2023 general elections.
