The newly posted Commissioner of police to Katsina State, Mr. Kolo Yusuf has sent a red signal to criminal elements operating in Katsina and neighbouring States, warning that it would no longer be business as usual.

Kolo gave the warning when he assumed duty as the new Katsina State Police commissioner for the 2023 general elections and has commenced thorough mop up operations in the state.

This was contained in a press statement issued and made available to newsmen by the State police spokesman, S P Gambo Isah.

The statement reads in part, “the Katsina State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that CP Kolo Yusuf has assumed duty as the Commissioner, Katsina State police Command, for the 2023 general elections and has commenced a mop up operation.”

The commissioner vowed that he was fully prepared to engage the bandits and other criminal elements on operation fire for fire operations, warning them to desist from their acts or face the full wrath of the law.

“The criminal elements should either leave the state or be arrested and dealt with in accordance with extant laws of the land.

“The Command therefore calls on the people of the state to continue to support and cooperate with the command and other security agencies in the State to ensure a free, fair, peaceful, and credible 2023 general elections in the state,” the statement added
