2023: PRP will turn Kaduna into a local and foreign investment hub, says Hayatuddeen

Malam Hayatuddeen Lawal Makarfi, People’s Redemption Party (PRP) Kaduna state Gubernatorial candidate, has stated that his administration will ensure that development is geared towards expanding cities and towns for economic viability and growth in order to attract local and foreign investments across the state by 2023.

He spoke to a select group of journalists in Kaduna over the weekend about his plans to revamp the state in order to reclaim its prestigious status once he becomes governor in 2023.

His mission, he says, is to make Kaduna an outstanding economic center not only in Nigeria, but throughout Africa.

“My main goal is to leave a legacy that will serve as a model for any government that cares about its subjects in the following sectors: environment, economy, infrastructure, education, health, governance, and, most importantly, peace and security,” he said.

He reiterated his intention to actualize his vision of establishing a people’s regime that translates the people of Kaduna state’s dream of having a government that will tilt the policy tradition toward human capacity development through inclusiveness and effective response to their demands.

“My goal is to leave an outstanding legacy in the state, which can only be accomplished by focusing on development projects and a human capital-based policy that can add value to the lives of the masses,” he said.

“There are ways I believe I can change the narrative in Kaduna in order to achieve better transformation, stability, and prosperity in key economic sectors.”

Our strategy entails combining the PRP government’s 1979 policy, which resulted in immeasurable achievements, with developmental research findings that highlight current needs in the state’s economic sectors.”

“I hope to treat each of the aforementioned industries with the following enthusiasm:

Governance: “We are proudly reintroducing the people’s government in the style that is typical of the PRP principles and programs, which is currently positioned to hand over political and economic power back to the people where it truly belongs,” he said.

On the environment, he stated, “With the emerging realities of global warming, we intend to take all necessary steps to prepare our beloved state.”

“The economy,” “this must be proactively set on a rapid recovery mode based on small, medium, and large scale industrialisation, as well as deliberate recapitalisation of businesses and local investors; it must become West Africa’s economic hub.”

“Infrastructure;” “development would be geared toward city and town expansion for economic viability and growth in order to attract local and foreign investments across the entire state.”

“Education;” “a policy shift would be anchored toward job-creating skill sets, thereby transforming the challenge of unemployable graduates into an abundance of creative and skilled graduates.”

“Healthcare” reforms will emphasize preventive care, emphasizing the link between nutrition, lifestyle, exercise, and improved well-being. To upgrade existing primary health care centers while introducing a policy proposal to heavily invest in healthcare with the goal of eliminating medical tourism in four years.”

“Peace and security: “the only true way out of the current abysmal insecurity situation is effective social justice system reform, which will usher in a new wave of unity, patriotism, and nationhood in the hearts and minds of the good people of the state and Nigeria, rather than by bullet.”

“Fortunately, the young people represent a significant proportion of about 80 percent of the entire population in the state and will definitely vote for a candidate who represents them, who is more familiar with their needs,” said the governorship candidate, who expressed optimism about winning the election.

“We are quite optimistic that we will win this election because we are different from what people are fed, as well as unique in such a way that some may see us as nonentity but, unknown to them, we hold significant values that have been revealed.”

“According to public opinion polls, it’s clear that people are tired of the status quo, as well as the set of people who have been ruling the state for the past 23 years, and they definitely need a change,” he said.

He also emphasized the importance of young people coming to their senses in order to have a government of their own, run by themselves, rather than a government run by some people who ride on the backs of youth to gain power and continue to manipulate their intelligence.

“An intriguing aspect of our team is that it is made up of young professionals who are well educated and morally sound, and who can represent the state in any relevant aspect worldwide and be respected as an authority in that aspect,” he said.

The PRP Gubernatorial candidate, who announced Mr. Shak Steven Umaru as his running mate, urged youth in the state to obtain Permanent Voters’ Cards in order to avoid being disenfranchised from voting in the upcoming general elections.

“I urge all eligible voters, particularly youth, to obtain their PVCs correctly because doing so will allow them to count in my quest to become Kaduna State Governor in 2023,” he said.
