2025 budget: Tinubu, Shettima to spend over N9bn on travel, refreshments

Nigeria’s president and vice president would be spending a total of N9.36 billion on refreshments and local and foreign trips, the 205 appropriation bill has shown.
President Bola Tinubu had on Wednesday presented the N4.97 trillion bill to lawmakers of the National Assembly for passage.
The bill has since passed its second reading.
However, details of the proposed budget show that N7.44 billion would be spent on travel and refreshments for the president while his vice would expend N1.9 billion for the same purpose.
Further details show that International travel for the president would gulp N6.14 billion while his local trips would take N873.9 million.
In addition, N431.6 million was committed for Tinubu’s refreshments and meals as well as foodstuffs and catering supplies.
Subsequently, Kashim Shettima’s travels are billed to take N1.31 billion, and local trips, N417.5 million.
Refreshments and meals and food stiff for the vice president will gulp N186.02 million.
