2027: You Will Lose 80% Of Northern Muslim Votes If You Change Shettima – Group Warns Tinubu

A northern group, the Arewa New Agenda, is advising President Tinubu not to drop Vice President Kashim Shettima for his reelection campaign.

The group claims that some people close to the President are urging him to replace Shettima, but they believe these individuals are trying to deceive him and don’t have his best interests at heart.

The group argues that a focus on courting northern Christian votes while neglecting northern Muslims is a counterproductive strategy that could cause President Tinubu to lose a significant portion of the northern Muslim vote in 2027.

They point to the 2023 election results, noting that northern Christians largely voted for Peter Obi.

The group concludes that the best course of action for President Tinubu is to “maintain the status quo” and keep Shettima on the ticket, as changing him would be a gamble that could cost him up to 80% of the northern Muslim vote.
