Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports

Twenty-one children who were kidnapped by terrorist bandits while working on a farm in Katsina State’s Faskari Local Government Area have been released.
Terrorists abducted 17 females and four males during an invasion of the Mairuwa community in Katsina on October 30, according to Track News.

The gunmen allegedly surrounded the farm and began shooting sporadically before abducting the workers to an unknown location.

Gambo Isah, the Katsina Police spokesperson, confirmed the children’s release to reporters on Saturday, adding that they had been reunited with their families.

Isah also stated that an investigation is underway to determine the reason for the workers’ kidnapping.

“It is with great joy that I announce the release of all 21 abducted workers who were abducted while working in farmland at Kamfanin Mai Lafiya village, Faskari LGA of Katsina state,” he said. They’ve been reunited with their loved ones. Please be aware that an investigation is underway.

“According to what we have gathered, they were working on someone’s farm, and they were not the only people working on the farm; there were other workers working on other farms as well, but what we learned is that the terrorist demanded money, a kind of levy that farm owners are required to pay as compensation or ransom.”

“We learned that the owner of that particular farm refused to comply with the terrorists’ demand, but they went ahead and kidnapped the workers on this farm because he had not paid the levy.”
