Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports
43 Muslim worshipers who were abducted from the Zugu community in the state’s Bukkuyum Local Government Area have been released. According to sources, the kidnap victims were released on Tuesday, September 6, at around 10:30 p.m. after the five million Naira ransom was paid. It was revealed that the thieves also asked for and received numerous jerry cans of gasoline as supplies. Members of the Zugu community revealed that while 44 people were taken hostage from the hamlet, one victim of the bandits’ torturing passed away in their camp. The remaining 43, on the other hand, made it back to the village unharmed and were later reunited with their families. Although the police have not yet released all the information on the release, the Zamfara command sent more tactical operators to the region after the kidnappings to make sure that things are back to normal. CP Kolo Yusuf, the state’s commissioner of police, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to cleansing the state of criminal activity and pleaded with all security personnel for ongoing cooperation and support in order to fulfill this task.
