The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State, Hon. Umaru Fintiri, yesterday received more than 500 defecting members as well as stakeholders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from Ganye Local Government Area. He assured them of equal treatment.
The defectors were received by the governorship hopeful at his residence in Yola, where the defectors pledged to deliver Ganye chiefdom to PDP ahead of next year’s general election.

Our Correspondent reported that the defectors were led by Rev Istifanus Habila, who expressed displeasure with their former party, the All Progressives Congress.

The group, however, promised to work for the progress and success of the PDP in the area, describing the presidential and governorship candidates of the party as people’s choice.

Supporters and associates of Habila also assured Fintiri of their unflinching support and loyalty because of his choice and antecedents, which had formed their decision to join the winning party.

Habila while congratulating the party for the emergence of Fintiri, gave reasons why he and other stakeholders left APC and called on his supporters to mobilise for the success of the party in Ganye chiefdom.
