President Buhari confers Order of the Niger, OON award on Amusan
By Adeleye Kunle
President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday conferred the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) on Tobi Amusan.
Amusan recently hit the headlines after winning a gold medal in the 100m hurdles at the World Athletics Championships in Oregon, United States of America.
Amusan also set a new world record in the process.
The 25-year-old was the first Nigerian athlete (male or female) to achieve the feat.
The Ogun-state-born athlete also won a gold medal in the same event at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
Just last week, she successfully defended her Diamond League title.
The athlete also broke the 22-year-old record set by America’s Gail Devers
