In Mafa, troops kill Boko Haram commander Abu Hassan, 13 others.
Fourteen terrorists were killed in an encounter in Borno State’s Mafa axis by troops from ‘Operation Hadin Kai,’ including Abu Hassan, a Commander (Munzir) of the Jama’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihad (Boko Haram).
According to sources, the terrorists were killed when a gunner in the troop’s patrol convoy opened fire with an Anti-Aircraft gun on the fleeing terrorists’ position, killing 14 of them.
According to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert and security analyst, Abu Hassan, the Commander who led the robbery mission, and 13 other fighters were killed.
One of the terrorists was overheard telling an Abu Iklima camp commander that the infidels, referring to the troops, had “killed 13 of our mujahedeens, including Abu Hassan.”
“As we were withdrawing from the battlefield in Ngowom, someone opened fire on us.” We’re on our way to the bodies. We’ve arrived in Gaizuwa.
“Abu Hassan has passed away; some of our fighters have been injured, and we may require emergency medical assistance,” he said.
Kachalla Gudau, a feared bandit leader who commanded a large number of foot soldiers carrying out kidnappings and killings in Kaduna State’s Chikun, Kachia, and Kajuru Local Government Areas, was among the bandits killed by Nigerian Army troops on Sunday at Kankomi in Kaduna State.
According to Kaduna State Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, Gudau was one of those killed by the brave troops as they repelled an attack led by the notorious bandit himself, ending his ignoble reign of brutality and evil.
“The remains of the notorious bandit, who is said to have ties to other notorious kingpins throughout the North-West and North-Central states, were discovered in the Kankomi Forest, where he bled to death.”
