Sokoto receives three World Bank awards.
The Sokoto State government has received three World Bank Awards of Excellence for its diligent implementation of the World Bank-assisted States Fiscal Transparency, Accountability, and Sustainability Project (SFTAS).
Dr Mohammed Inname, the state’s acting Commissioner for Finance, stated yesterday that the World Bank has been running the SFTAS in the 36 states and the FCT for the past four to five years.
“It is intended to strengthen the financial and accountability systems in the states and the Federal Capital Territory,” he said (FCT). The project will be completed by the end of this year, and states that performed well will be recognized.”
According to Inname, the 2022 edition of the awards took place on Monday, November 14, at the Transcript Hilton in Abuja.
According to Inname, who also serves as the State Commissioner for Health, the state performed admirably in all three categories.
“The Bank has rigorously evaluated the states on several key Direct Link Indicators” (DLIs). “They are indicators that have been identified and evaluated on a regular basis,” he explained.
