Makinde signs into law a N310.4 billion budget for 2023
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has signed the 2023 appropriation bill into law.
Makinde signed the Saki town budget for fiscal year 2023 into law on Friday.
According to Track News, the budget was signed into law after the state House of Assembly approved it.
Legislators from the state Thursday evening, the budget was signed into law in Ibadan, the state capital.
According to Track News, the state legislature approved a budget for fiscal year 2023 totaling three hundred and ten billion, four hundred and thirty-two million five hundred thousand naira (N310,432,500,000.00).
In contrast, Makinde has signed the bill into law.
Makinde stated during his speech that the budget would aid in the completion of some of the state’s ongoing projects.
He continued, describing the allocation as a budget for long-term development, that his administration was able to increase the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) to more than N3.8 billion.
He thanked state lawmakers for passing the budget so quickly. “Here in Saki, I just signed the budget into law. As a result, history has been written.
“Let me use this opportunity to thank the Speaker and other members of the Assembly for the speedy passage of the budget”.
