Delta: NUJ Warri gets new executives
The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Warri Correspondents’ Chapel, today got a new executive that will pilot its affairs for the next three years.
Members of the executive include Okies Veeky, Edeki Igafe, Samuel Ogude, Francis Sadhere, Elo Edremoda and Onyekachukwu Meluwa respectively, chairman, secretary, assistant secretary, treasurer, financial secretary and auditor.
Chairman Okies Veeky, Assistant Secretary Samuel Ogude and Treasurer Francis Sadhere were returned unopposed.
In his acceptance speech, Veeky appreciated the confidence reposed in him and members of his executive to serve the union, promising to run an open-door policy to move the union forward. While stressing that the welfare of NUJ members will be uppermost in his administration, he extended a hand of fellowship to other contestants who lost in the election.
The Delta State Council Chairman of the NUJ, Michael Ikeogwu urged the new chairman of the Warri NUJ and his executive to operate an open-door policy in their administration, and reminded them of the priority of members’ welfare, while he also solicited the support of members of the union for the new executives
