I Will Be Leaving Office In 22 Days, But I’m Available Anytime You Need A Troublemaker – El-Rufai
Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has debunked rumors of his desire to become the Chief of Staff of the cabinet of President-elect Senator Bola Tinubu.
El-Rufai said this while addressing journalists in Gombe on Saturday.
According to Vanguard reports, the construction of 550 housing units and the Gombe Geographical Information Systems (GOGIS) Service Center in El-Rufai State He described reports attributed to him and published in national newspapers as “pure speculation”. The governor said he is more interested in contributing to the development of Nigeria than running for office.
“I haven’t had this conversation with the president-elect, and I don’t want to speculate.”
“I read all kinds of portfolios in the newspapers, but you know, I am a dedicated Nigerian.” I want to see my country progress, and whatever I can contribute to the development of the country, I will do it.
“But I don’t have to work in Tinubu’s government. I can work in the private sector or in civil society.” Everyone who works in the private sector or civil society participates.
“There is not just one way to contribute to the country, and I will never stop working for the progress of Nigeria,” he said.
When he leaves office in the next 22 days, the governor said he will take a break but is ready to give advice as needed to move the state forward.
“I will be leaving office in 22 days, but I’m available anytime you need a troublemaker.”
“I work in the private sector, not in any chief of staff position.” I take a break and advise people like Governor Inuwa Yahaya when they need it,” he said.
On May 29, during Tinubu’s presidency, El-Rufai said that Nigerians will not regret voting for the president-elect, stressing that better days await Nigerians under Tinubu’s leadership.
