EPL: Gary Neville names Arsenal players to blame for title collapse
Former Manchester United captain, Gary Neville has blamed the more experienced players in the Arsenal squad for their title collapse.
The Gunners’ bid to upstage Manchester City in the Premier League this season is all but over following a 3-0 defeat at home to Brighton.
City now have a four-point gap over Mikel Arteta’s men and need three points to be confirmed champions.
Neville, who has always doubted Arsenal’s mettle to win the trophy, says players like Gabriel Magalhaes, Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka should have done more for the younger ones.
“I think we have seen Gabriel, [Thomas] Partey, [Granit] Xhaka and a couple of others, their weakest time of the season.
“They have lost their form, and the older players have not been able to settle the younger players who were inevitably always going to struggle in this moment through pressure.
“The experienced players have just not been quite there for them,” Neville said on Sky Sports
