APC Urges PDP to Apologize and Acknowledge Supreme Court’s Decisions
In the aftermath of the recent Supreme Court judgments, the All Progressives Congress (APC) is calling for an apology from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), asserting that the opposition party should express remorse for what it perceives as “senseless and irresponsible attacks” on the judiciary during the electoral process.
APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, emphasized that the party wholeheartedly accepts the outcomes of the Supreme Court’s judgments. Morka expressed delight in the court’s decisions upholding the election of APC governorship candidates in Lagos, Ebonyi, and Cross River States. However, he acknowledged that the appeals on Kano, Zamfara, Bauchi, Plateau, and Abia State governorship polls were decided in favor of other political parties and their candidates.

While recognizing that the Supreme Court’s decisions might elicit mixed reactions, Morka stressed that these judgments are final and binding on all parties involved in the legal contests. He underscored the significance of the court’s authority, vibrancy, and independence in settling disputes, especially electoral disputes, in line with constitutional mandates.
Morka took the opportunity to reiterate APC’s consistent stance, emphasizing that the judiciary must be allowed to perform its crucial duty of resolving disputes without external interference. He called the Supreme Court’s decisions a rebuke to political opposition figures who had criticized and denigrated the courts when judgments were unfavorable to them in similar matters.

In a strongly worded statement, Morka urged the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to issue an unreserved apology to the courts and judges for what he described as “senseless, irresponsible, reckless, and unjustified attacks” mounted against the judiciary throughout the electoral cycle. He asserted that such an apology would demonstrate decency on the part of the PDP.
In conclusion, Morka congratulated the winners, particularly APC Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, and Bassey Otu of Cross River State. He extended best wishes to them as they continue to serve their respective states and the country. The APC spokesman urged everyone to remain calm and uphold the peace.
