APC Dismisses Utomi’s Merger Claim, Labels it ‘Delusion of Grandeur’
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has firmly rejected claims made by political economist Pat Utomi about a potential merger between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) posing a threat to the ruling party in the 2027 general election.
In response to Utomi’s assertions, APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, issued a statement dismissing the idea and questioned the credibility of Utomi’s perspective. Morka labeled Utomi’s proposal as a “delusion of grandeur,” citing the political economist’s history of promoting mega parties that never materialized.

Morka emphasized Utomi’s failed attempt in 2021 to launch a people-centered ideological mega party, stating that such plans did not progress beyond the news headlines. The statement highlights skepticism regarding Utomi’s influence on the proposed alliance, suggesting an unrealistic expectation of transforming parties he deems decadent into pillars of political and economic liberty for Nigerians.
