COVID-19: THE PEOPLE’S LEGISLATOR, HON. BARR. PORRI DONATES HIS MARCH AND APRIL SALARIES TO HIS CONSTITUENTS AS PALLIATIVE.
TRACKING_____Following the steep hardship occasioned by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the People’s Legislator, Hon. Barr. Tare Porri has taken the decision to donate his March and April salaries as a palliative measure to assuage the harsh living conditions of his constituents.
Hon. Porri, who always puts the people first, decided to use the salaries to provide a comprehensive stimulus package which includes foodstuffs, cash gifts and other protective items with a view to encouraging his constituents to adhere to Government directives for a partial lockdown and for citizens to stay safe at home
While giving out the materials to his people, Hon. Porri used the medium to also enlighten his constituents that COVID-19 is real and not a ‘BIGMAN SICKNESS’ as wrongly conceived by some people. He advised that they observe the practice of personal hygiene through constant washing of the hands and use of hand sanitizers, social distancing, and the use of face masks where necessary. Hon. Porri further urged the people to be clinically alert amongst themselves and quickly report any case that exhibits the symptoms of the dreaded coronavirus such as dry cough, difficulty in breathing, high fever etc. to the nearest hospital or health facility.
Finally, he reassured the people of Government’s readiness against the
virus and commitment towards protecting the people. The People’s Legislator thanked His Excellency, Sen. Douye DIRI, Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, for his proactive measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus into the State and the provision of relief materials for the people of the State.
