BYG set to rehabilitate over 50 internal roads in Yenagoa
TRACKING_____Bayelsa State Government has concluded plans to rehabilitate over fifty internal roads that are in deplorable conditions in Yenagoa.
The Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure in the State, Surveyor Moses Teibowei, stated this while inspecting some roads within the State capital.
He said funds for the rehabilitation have been approved and that most of the jobs would be given to indigenous contractors to handle.
Surveyor Teibowei, also assured that ongoing expansion at the Edepie/Etegwe roundabout, would be completed by end of October.
He said the section of Isaac Boro express way leading to Imiringi Road will be close to traffic from next week when work resumes and urged residents and road users to show understanding despite the inconveniences that will come with the construction work.
Also answering questions on what people should expect from the government within the next 12 months, Surveyor Teibowei, stated that major work will commence at the Igbogene / AIT Rd Outer ring road, the Yenagoa- Oporoma road and Sagbama -Ekeremor road.
He said that the present administration is working on modalities to resume construction work at the Gloryland drive.
