Buratai charged to build stronger bilateral relationship between Nigeria, Benin Republic
Nigeria’s new Ambassador to the Republic of Benin, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai (rtd) has been charged to build a stronger bilateral relationship between Nigeria and Benin Republic.
Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni gave the charge yesterday in a statement signed by his spokesman, Mamman Mohammed when he received Ambassador Buratai on a courtesy visit in Damaturu.
Buni expressed optimism that Buratai has the ability to build a viable relationship between the two West African countries.
“Your Excellency, your meritorious service in the army has built a great confidence around you which earned you this appointment as an ambassador by President Muhammadu Buhari”, Buni said.
The Governor was confident that Buratai will make Nigeria proud, while wishing him success in his new assignment.
Responding, Ambassador Buratai commended Gov. Buni for his encouragement and support while in service.
“I thank you for the words of encouragement and promise to do my best for an improved relationship between the two countries,” Buratai assured.
He congratulated Governor Buni for his exemplary leadership as the Chairman Caretaker Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
