Ganduje Appoints New Chairman For State Anti-Corruption Agency
The Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, on Thursday appointed Barrister Mahmoud Balarabe as the acting Executive Chairman of Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC).
The development was disclosed in a statement released by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Ganduje, Abba Anwar.
“The appointment is with immediate effect and directed the acting Executive Chairman to discharge his duties diligently, according to the laid down procedures establishing the Commission.”
Balarabe until his appointment was a Director for Public Prosecution at the state Ministry of Justice.
He will succeed Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado who was suspended by the state House of Assembly earlier this week for rejecting the state government appointee to his agency.
Recall that Gado was suspended to give room for the Anti-corruption Committee of the Assembly to investigate alleged misconducts in the commission.
