Wike Helped Secondus Become Chairman, Wants To Control Him Permanently – Idahosa
Chief Charles Idahosa, a foundation member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday said Prince Uche Secondus, the party’s National Chairman has performed creditably well and has the capacity to lead the party to the 2023 general elections.
The former Commissioner for Information in Edo state however said the problem in the PDP, especially between Secondus and Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state, is a struggle between a godfather and his political godson, which according him was the same scenario that played out in the last governorship election in Edo state between Governor Godwin Obaseki and Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
“I think Secondus is up to the task of leading the party to the next general elections. He has done very well as the national chairman of PDP”.
“I think the problem he has is the same problem we have in Edo state where you rely on a godfather to get to a particular position and the godfather wants to permanently have a hold on you. That is exactly what happened between Governor Obaseki and Adams Oshiomhole. That is what is happening to Secondus now”.
“Secondus got to his position as national chairman because of the support of a godfather. What we are witnessing now in PDP is a fight between a godfather and a godson who wants his freedom” he said.
