SENSITIZATION ON EFFECTIVE USE OF THE ROAD ORGANIZED BY FRSC & RTEAN BAYELSA STATE COUNCIL.
As we begin the countdown to the end of the year and everyone seems to be gearing up towards achieving set down goals of the year at all cost, especially the road transport workers. It is also important to note that accidents are caused by negligence of commuters and drivers. In other to reduce and manage this to a minimal rate; hence this sensitization to further enlighten the general public most especially the drivers on how to make good use of the roads, maintain and ensure that their vehicles are in good condition and most importantly avoid the use of drugs while driving.
One of the highlights of the day was the quick alcohol test, conducted for drivers with a device called breathalyzer, which after the test some drivers ceased the opportunity to ask questions about the alcohol test which was duly answered correctly by the officials present.
Towards the End of the Sensitization, the Sector Commander represented by Superintendent Road Commander; Victor Otobo joined voice with the State Chairman, Road Transport Employers’ Association of Nigeria(RTEAN) Bayelsa State Council; Chief Oyinkuro Ifie Ereboh in admonishing the drivers/commuters to abide to Federal Road Safety Corps rules/regulations to avoid road accidents and other road mishaps, stating that the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and other organized unions affiliated to road transport are willing to ensure that citizens of the state abide by road rules and regulations towards protection of lives and properties. “So we are in this together and we will win together”.
