Kogi state governor Yahaya Bello has promised National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members posted to the state an extra N5,000 allowance on a monthly basis.

NYSC members posted to all states in Nigeria are entitled to a monthly allowance of N19,800 by the Nigerian Government.

“Gov. Bello has just announced a personal donation of N5m to the family of an NYSC Director who died last night,” Olorunpomi said in a tweet.

“He also gifted all corp members N10,000 as transport allowance. Promised monthly allowances of N5,000 to all Kogi State corp members to be paid from his office.”

The governor’s senior special assistant on electronic media Gbenga Olorunpomi said the governor announced the extra allowance during the closing ceremony of the orientation course for the 2018 Batch B corps members.

Olorunpomi said Bello also gave a personal donation of N5 million to the family of an NYSC director who died on Sunday night, August 12.
