Why Ndigbo should support Tinubu, by APC woman leader
The Southeast zonal woman leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Diyiokeh Uchenna has called on Ndigbo to support the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu because he is the only man that can protect the interest of the region.
Uchenna, who was speaking on the emergence of the APC presidential candidate, insisted with Tinubu as a detribalised Nigerian, the people of the Southeast have nothing to fear regarding their place in Nigeria.
“In politics there is no permanent friend or permanent enemy. What is permanent is the interest of Southeast in Tinubu’s Presidency. I believe that as a detribalised Nigerian that Southeast has nothing to fear.
“There were South easterners who were Commissioners and Special Advisers when the Asiwaju was the Governor of Lagos State. So once Southeast is convinced that their interest would be enhanced under Tinubu Presidency, they will sure vote for him.
“It is because Tinubu is a strong believer in the Nigeria project that he came out to contribute in the taking Nigeria to greater heights. As a true democrat, he is a leader who wants a just and egalitarian society,” she said.
Uchenna, who was not surprised at the emergency of Tinubu as the APC presidential candidate, added: “This man has contributed immensely to the emergence, success and meteoric growth of APC over the years.”
She added: “I want to use this opportunity to commend our dear President, Muhammed Buhari for proving to be a father and a true democrat, by insisting on a transparent, fair and credible presidential primary. I also give kudos to the national leadership of our great party, the Presidential Convention Primary Committee, and the entire APC family for these unprecedented demonstration of democratic credentials”.
She urged Southeast leaders to begin early to key in the Tinubu project so as not to be left behind.
