According to Dr. Mohammed Bara’u Tanimu, the Accord Party’s candidate for governor of Katsina State, it will be absurd for Nigerians seeking progress to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) or the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the upcoming 2023 elections.
At a news conference on Friday in Katsina, Tanimu said that the major political parties had failed Nigerians and had nothing fresh to offer to address the country’s numerous security and economic problems.
Tanimu asserted: “We rely on them to give us what we desire but they have failed us therefore they have nothing new to offer to Nigerians in 2023.” He described the APC and PDP as the same content in different bottles that had let down Nigerians over the years.
But he went on to say that he entered the campaign for governor of Katsina State to help the state overcome its many economic and security problems, as well as to restructure the educational system for the state’s peace, learning, and socioeconomic prosperity.
The candidate for governor emphasized that the state currently needs a lasting peace and sound government free of anti-democratic ideals, injustice, unfairness, and a lack of transparency and accountability.
He refuted claims that the party lacks state-level organization by stating that it has all the necessary conditions and a solid foundation to defeat the incumbent APC in the upcoming elections.
“Katsina requires competent governance,” he continued, “that will ensure justice, fairness, accountability, and all other principles outlined in the Federal Republic of Nigeria Constitution.
However, the reality is that some of these characteristics are lacking in the state due to the leadership we produce, so voters must exercise caution and make informed decisions in the upcoming general election.
Within the scope of our stewardship as a servant leader, “our objective is to transform Katsina State par excellence in security, education, and infrastructural development. Therefore, the goal is to deliver sincere, ethical governance and focused leadership.
