Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports

According to a close source, Professor Adigun Agbaje, a former Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics) of the University of Ibadan, who was kidnapped along the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway, has been released.

According to Professor Remi Aiyede, Head of Department, Political Science, University of Ibadan, Professor Agbaje was discharged a few hours ago and is receiving medical examination.

“Prof Agbaje was only discharged a few hours ago. “He’s well and getting checked out,” he added over the phone.

Remember that Agbaje was on his way to Ibadan around 6 p.m. on Friday when kidnappers stopped him near the Sat Guru Maharaji Garden and kidnapped him.

Since his kidnapping on Friday night, men from the Nigeria Police, Oyo State Command, and sister-security agencies have been working to find him.

The kidnappers allegedly phoned his family and demanded N50 million as ransom.

At the time of reporting this article, it was unclear whether or not the ransom had been paid.
