TRACKING______MINISTER of Transport, Mr. Rotimi Ameachi, on Saturday broke down in tears during the funeral mass of his Chief Security Officer, Mr. Tony Iwelu.

Ameachi was choked with emotions and could not continue with the oration, as he broke down while giving an oration during the funeral mass at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South L.G.A, Delta State.

The minister, who described the death of his aide as “one of my greatest shocks and personal losses”, said the deceased has been around his family in the last 17 years.

In his words, “the realisation of Tony’s death was to say, the least an unbelievable occurrence even as it appears to be so. Tony had through thick and thin been dedicatedly around me and my family for the past 17 years. I am throughout speechless as it concerns Tony’s death because this is one of my greatest shocks and personal losses.”

In a related development, a family of four parishioners, including a 60 year old grandmother, her two children, and an unidentified female were, yesterday, killed in a fatal accident in Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South L.G.A.

It was learnt that the three other victims had broken legs as a result of the accident.

The TrackNews gathered that the unidentified female is related to the grandmother.

The incident which occurred at about 9.00 am in Obi-Ogbenti quarters involved a Toyota Camry with registration number ASB 635 AH, that was travelling at high speed when the driver plowed into the family who were on their way home after cleaning the church premises of Mary Immaculate Catholic Church.

A source said the family had gone to clean their church in preparation for Sunday service.

A police source said irate youths threatened to burn down the vehicle, adding that the driver has absconded.

Delta Police image maker, DSP Onome Onowakpoyeya, confirmed the death of one person, adding that four victims were being treated at an undisclosed the hospital.
