***PRESCRIBES BOTTOM UP APPROACH TO GOVERNANCE FOR EFFECTIVE RESULTS

TRACKING >Amb (Dr.) Godknows Boladei Igali, OON, the leading aspirant for the governorship of Bayelsa State under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has congratulated the newly sworn-in Chairmen, Vice Chairmen and Councillors of the eight Local Government Areas of Bayelsa State.

At the grand reception in honour of the Chairman of Southern Ijaw Local Government, Hon Nigeria Kia and Vice-Chairman, Hon Parkins Ogede, Amb Igali urged Bayelsans to cooperate with their various local government council executives for progress and development.

He said that the local government areas constitute the nexus of growth in the state. In his words: All over the world, Municipal Councils are the connecting link and neck between provincial governments and the people. Their proper functioning is therefore pivotal to steady economic and social wellbeing of the populace and the attainment of the SDGs at the earliest time possible “.

Amb Godknows Igali advised the new executive members to run an all inclusive, mutually beneficial local government.

Addressing press men after the event, Amb Igali promised to operate a bottom to top system of governance as governor of Bayelsa State. He promised to work harmoniously with the local governments to bring development to the grassroots. According to him: “l will ensure that our development model commences from the communities to the wards and unto the Local Government Areas. The communities must be involved at all critical stages of government programmes and activitie, inorder to achieve optimal results “.

The aspirant also commended Governor Henry Seriake Dickson for a wonderful work done so far in the state and the conduct of peaceful Council elections.
