The governor of Lagos, Akinwunmi Ambode, on Sunday, December 30, approved the appointment of Hakeem Olayinka Muri-Okunola as the 21st Head of Service (HOS) in the state. He also appointed six permanent secretaries into the government.

The announcement was contained in a statement signed by the chief press secretary to the governor, Habib Aruna.

The statement said Okunola’s appointment follows the statutory retirement of Folasade Sidikatu Adesoye on December 27, 2018.

According to the statement, Muri-Okunola was appointed as the executive secretary in charge of Land Use and Allocation Committee (LUAC), a position he held between 2005 and 2011.

TRACKNEWS.NG learnt that until his current appointment, he was the permanent secretary in the ministry of youth and social development.

The statement quoted Governor Ambode as thanking the outgoing HOS for her meritorious service to the State and wished her well in her future endeavours.

The governor also appointed six new permanent secretaries.

They include Goncalves Titilayo Fausat; Kosoko Hakeem Adeyemi; Balogun Sherifat Bolajoko; Adeniji Segun Olufemi; Adelaja Abosede Omobolanle and Lawal Lateef Temidayo.

The statement added that the new HoS and the permanent secretaries would be sworn in on Monday, December 31, at the Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja.

Meanwhile, TRACKNEWS.NG reported earlier that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode said the crowd that received President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday, December 28, in Uyo, Akwa Ibom during the official flag off of the presidential campaign shows he will win in 2019.

Ambode, who lauded the residents for trooping out to receive Buhari, added that the development was an eloquent confirmation that President Muhammadu Buhari is head and shoulders above the other candidates.
