The Deputy National Organizing Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nze Chidi Duru, announced over the weekend in Awka that President Bola Tinubu has endorsed a blueprint for the party to secure victory in the 2025 governorship election in Anambra State.

Duru, a former member of the House of Representatives, revealed that the winning strategy was disclosed by the national chairman of the APC, Alhaji Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, during a recent stakeholders meeting with party leaders from Anambra State in Abuja.

He made these remarks during the distribution of approximately 1000 bags of rice and a cash donation of N100 million from a former national auditor of the APC, Sir Paul Chukwuma, to executive members of the party at all levels in the state.

Duru explained that following the President’s blueprint, the APC national chairman would visit Anambra State in January 2024 to outline the plans.

He urged party executives to initiate ward-to-ward mobilization immediately in preparation for the national chairman’s visit to actualize the President’s winning plan.

During the visit, Ganduje is expected to meet with all party supporters in Anambra State, including those who may be aggrieved, for genuine reconciliation as part of preparations for the 2025 gubernatorial election.

Duru called for unity among APC members and supporters, emphasizing that solidarity is crucial for the party to succeed in taking power from the ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) government in the state in 2025.

Commending Chukwuma for his generous gesture, the state chairman of APC, Chief Basil Ejidike, urged other affluent members of the party in the state to follow suit. He emphasized that similar acts would demonstrate to grassroots residents that, although the party is not in power in the state, their interests are being cared for by concerned wealthy party members.

Ejidike reminded APC members that a political party is relevant only if it wins elections, assuring that the executive would continue working to increase APC membership in Anambra State through effective mobilization.

Highlighting the unprecedented nature of Chukwuma’s contribution in the state, the chairman observed that such gestures would further strengthen peace and unity among members in Anambra State and beyond.

Chukwuma also disclosed that, to enhance the visibility of APC in the state, he has paid for billboards to be erected at strategic locations in all 21 local government areas ahead of the governorship election. He expressed his commitment to making contributions that promote the party and ensure that Anambra is fully connected to the center through the APC channel, which he described as the most popular political party in Africa
