TRACKING >>The Commissioner for Information, Mr Aniagwu Charles has tasked staff of the Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS), Asaba to re-double their efforts to make the station compete favourably with other players in the industry with a view to winning back the teeming audience especially in Delta State.Mr Aniagwu stated this during a meeting with the staff of the station on the way forward in making the station capable of serving the purpose for which it was established and a true station for the people of Delta State.Speaking during the meeting, the Commissioner noted that over the years the state broadcasting outfit had gradually lost its viewership due to many factors which included lack of commitment on the part of staff, lack of quality programme which reduced patronage from customers, lack of initiatives and content among others. On training of staff, Aniagwu emphasized the need for staff to as much as they could engage in self training through monitoring of what is happening in the other industries, learning from them as well as adding values aimed at attracting large viewership which in turn will increase patronage of the station by customers through adverts and sponsorship of programmes. After the meeting, all the staff who spoke at different times agreed that there was the need to build a formidable team to drive the vision, resolve to be more committed to their duties and have a positive attitude towards service delivery as well as contribute their quota to the ‘a Stronger Delta’ initiative of Gov Okowa led government.Present were the functioning Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr Paul Osahor, some directors from the ministry and staff of DBS, Asaba led by the General Manager, Lady Evelyn Binitie.
