Anti-Cultistism/ Security Agencies Conduct Joint Raid in Yenagoa Metropolis (See Photos)

TRACKING____The Bayelsa State Volunteers and it’s counterpart Bayelsa State Vigilante Services conducted a joint operation to the various hideouts of criminals and miscreants within t

he metropolitan capital of the state.

No less than 11 persons comprising young youths with no fixed residential address or any means of livelihood were arrested at a hideout in Tombia during the operation.

The team which were accompanied by armed Police officers attached to both agencies were seen on Customs Street, Biogbolo and other adjoins streets where two young men were earlier gunned down by unknown assailants the previous night.

Speaking on the renewed need to rid the city of criminals and petty thieves, Chairmen of the both security outfit, Hon. Lucky Oyinkuro Asanakpo and Hon. Doubiye Alagba, said, they were forced to mobolize their men and embark on the raid because of the rising state of insecurity and recent cult related killings in the state capital.

According to him, no responsible government will sit back and watch the gradual escalation in cases of insecurity occasioned by criminals even after several efforts to bring about peace and cohesion among youth groups.

We have decided to take the war against crime and criminality to the door steps of the criminals wherever they may be within the state capital adding that enough is enough, we can no longer tolerate the excesses of these men of the underworld.

Hon. Asanakpo has assured all law abiding citizens to go about their lawful duties as the security agencies embark on operation zero tolerance to crime and cultism In Bayelsa State.

All those arrested illicit drugs, marijuana and charms were handed over to the anti-cultism unit, Bayelsa State Police Command for necessary investigation and prosecution.

The legal department of the state Volunteers and Vigilante Services are expected to follow up with the Police to ensure those found culpable did not escape the long arm of justice at the end of the day.
