There were strong indications last night that Jigawa State Governor Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, Ebonyi State Governor Dave Umahi, and Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu may emerge as the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Directors for the 2023 general election, Track News has learned.

Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, Ben Ayade of Cross River State, Sani Bello of Niger State, Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, and Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State are among the other governors being considered.
According to Track News , while Badaru will lead the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Presidential Campaign in the North, Umahi will lead the campaign in the South.

According to the investigation, the ruling party has also established Zonal Directorates for the six geopolitical zones.
It was learned that each of the six zonal directorates would be led by a serving governor.

Multiple sources confirmed to Track News that the Imo State Governor, Uzodimma, will oversee Tinubu’s presidential campaign in the South-east, barring any unforeseen circumstances. According to the sources, Governor Ayade of Cross River State will lead the South-South initiative.

According to sources, Akeredolu will lead the campaign in the South-West states, which include Lagos, while Kano State Governor Dr Ganduje and Niger State Governor Bello will lead the campaigns in the North-west and North Central, respectively.

Similarly, Yahaya, the Gombe State governor, has proposed heading north.
“The proposals, however, are subject to ratification by the NWC and approval by President Muhammadu Buhari,” a NWC member said last night.
