– Sam Odehe’s home in Makurdi, Benue state has been raided by unknown hoodlums

– Odehe, running mate to the APC governorship candidate, Emmanuel Jime, has confirmed the incident

– He, however, noted that he was not at home when the hoodlums stormed his house

Barely a day after he became the running mate to the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Emmanuel Jime, hoodlums on Monday, December 3, stormed the home of Sam Ode in Makurdi, Benue state.

The Nation reports that the hoodlums suspected to be cultists raided his HUDCO Quarters in Makurdi at 4am. Ode, former minister of state for Niger Delta, however, noted that he was not at home when the hoodlums stormed his house.

According to him, “My security guards told me that some men armed with knives, axe, clubs and other weapons forced their way into my house and asked after me, even though I was not at home.

”I suspect they were after my life. The former minister said the matter was reported to security agencies. The police spokesman Moses Yamu, a deputy superintendent of police, could not be reached the night of the incident as his phone was switched off.

Meanwhile, TRACKNEWS.NG had reported that the Benue chapter of APC said it has been working towards Sunday, December 2, deadline given by the INEC to present its vice governorship candidate.

The spokesperson for the party in the state, James Ornguga, gave this assurance when he was fielding questions from journalists on issues bordering on the party’s preparation for 2019 race.

The choice of vice governorship candidate has become a bone of contention after five people indicated interest in the position.
