TRACKING_____The embattled Students Union Government (SUG) President of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Adegboye Emmanuel Olatunji, who was arrested for cultism, has denied the allegation levelled against him. Olatunji, a HND II Banking and Finance student, claimed that he was probably hypnotized and framed by the police and members of local vigilance group. The student leader spoke Tuesday at the Ogun State police command headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, where he was paraded alongside another suspected cult member, Olarewaju Taiwo. Seventy-five other suspects, who were arrested for armed robbery, murder, car snatching and illegal fabrication of firearms, among others, were also paraded by the police. Briefing reporters, the state Commissioner of Police, Kenneth Ebrimson, said the command has stepped up crime fighting efforts by taking the war against crime to the door steps of criminals so as not to give them any leverage to attack people of the state. The CP, who stated that Olatunji and his accomplice were apprehended in full regalia of Black Axe cult group, denied claims that security agents wore the clothes for the suspects. Ebrimson said: “I interviewed him (SUG President) in my office and he said he was caught in the bush. That was his statement in my office. So, whoever game you that version of Information is not correct. “He was apprehended with his regalia and we have refused to pull it out of him so that he does not deny, so that you, the press men, can see things for yourselves.” But Olatunji denied the allegations against him, saying he was nabbed on Sunday on his way to church. The embattled student leader, who has been suspended by the polytechnic management, insisted that his ordeal might be the outcome of deep conspiracy. He stated that his residence had been searched and nothing incriminating was found there. He also said he never knew the suspect who was arrested along with him by the police.
